Food with thought
SFQC (Scottish Food Quality Certification) is an independent company based in Edinburgh specialising in the inspection and certification of food production, processing and service. As a result of the assessments and checks we make throughout the food chain SFQC can help consumers know more about the food they purchase and consume.
We all want food that is safe and tastes good but many of us now want more information about what we eat - for example where it has come from; how it has been produced; how livestock have been treated; what controls are in place to prevent use or abuse of unsafe chemicals; that the environment is taken care of; how food has been processed; and in the case of eating out, information about the restaurant. In other words we want food with thought.
