A: RTFA Produce is a wholly owned subsidiary of Assured Food Standards (AFS).
Q. Who is AFS?
A. AFS is the independent organisation set up to manage the “ Red Tractor” mark.
Q. How do I arrange for an assessment?
A. You will apply to join RTFA Produce through NSF-CMi, with SFQC acting as assessor.
Q. What do I need for the assessment?
A. The assessor will contact you and will explain the scheme requirements and discuss what records will be needed on the day. A checklist can also be downloaded from the Assured Produce website.
Q. What if I do not pass my assessment?
A. The assessor will leave you with a non-conformance sheet listing the work that requires to be carried out and a time in which the work must be completed.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. Fees depend on type of crop and size of enterprise.
