SFQC has been involved for a number of years in either delivering food and farming projects or working in collaborative ventures with other partners.
Some examples:
- Researched, developed and currently maintain and promote . This one-stop website for caterers provides a voluntary code of practice for origin declarations on menus. It was developed with industry support on behalf of the Scottish Government as part of the National Food Policy and aims to help consumers make informed choices, encourage caterers to detail provenance, and increase the consumption of local food and drink. - Drawing up a scoping study into the development of Farmers Markets in Scotland for the Scottish Government. This study has been used as the basis of a three year collaborative project which is now underway to develop these markets significantly. Click for press release.
- SFQC has carried out a wholesale review into the quality assurance chain for Quality Meat Scotland (QMS)
- IFOAM feasibility study for the Scottish Organic Producers Association (SOPA)
- Feasibility studies into food quality assurance schemes e.g. EatScotland

- Has worked within a Scottish Government funded consortium investigating meat eating quality
- Is working within a consortium to assist the Turkish government to prepare its organic farming sector for accession to the EU
- helped in the delivery of an organic monitor farm.
- SFQC played an integral role working with The List in the development of a food and drink directory, The . The First Edition was launched in 1 April, 2009.
