Q:  Are there going to be additional awards?

A:  From Year Two, all scheme participants will be eligible for a higher, one off award. Criteria for these awards are currently being determined.

Q:  Will the public be able to feed back about the restaurants they visit?

A:  There is an interactive facility for consumers to feed back their own dining experiences and to comment on participating establishments on the EatScotland website found here.

Q:  Will the public see the full report the assessor makes?

A:  The public have access to the assessors overall comments of their experience. No other aspects of the report is made public.  The fact that your company is on the site indicates that your business has achieved the EatScotland standard.

Q:  How involved are VisitScotland?

A:  VisitScotland owns the Scheme, sets the Scheme standards and manages all EatScotland consumer promotion.

Q:  What experience do the assessors have?

A:  All Assessors either have a background, currently or retrospectively, within the catering industry - be it as a chef or having owned their own business. All training for the assessment team is covered by our Lead Assessors who are VisitScotland Quality Advisors.

Q:  What has happened to the previous VisitScotland Food Grading Schemes?

A:  Previous VisitScotland schemes, such as the Medallions or Taste of Scotland schemes are no longer in existence. EatScotland is the only food quality assurance scheme supported by VisitScotland.
