Organic processing ‘supremo' joins SFQC organic team!
05 October 2010
SFQC is delighted to announce that former Technical Director of Soil Association Certification - Keith Ball has joined SFQC to become SOPA organic technical manager.
Keith has over 10 years experience of working with and overseeing the organic certification management of thousands of organic processing businesses; provided technical support to major retailers; been a member of DEFRA organic advisory committees; an excellent understanding of UK, EU and international organic regulations and obligations.
Keith will help our organic team work with a growing number of organic processing businesses of all sizes from the likes of St Merryn Meat (Tesco's major organic red meat supplier) and their Scottish sister plant equivalent, McIntosh Donald, to fledgling organic food suppliers based from home. A key part of his role will be to work with small and medium sized food businesses on understanding organic requirements and to develop opportunities for existing and potential food processing businesses to meet both SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) and SOPA organic standards.
