MAGB Competition 2012
This is not just a barley sample competition. It is all about growers demonstrating their knowledge and expertise - their marketing strategy, their use of fertilizers and chemicals, their understanding and application of good storage and sampling practices.
All entrys will be considered by a panel of three judges, all industry experts, and the finalists will be visited on their farms to further test their skills. The last stage of the competition will be a post-harvest review of how successfully the crop has been marketed. The first prize in each region is a £200 cheque and an invitation to the MAGB Annual Luncheon in London in November. Runners up will receive a £100 cheque.
The deadline for entry is 15th June England/Wales and 2nd July Scotland.
