The QMS Processor Assurance Scheme assures Scotch beef, Scotch lamb and Specially Selected pork of the consistent quality and tenderness desired by consumers. Each carcase is carefully checked at all stages of processing to ensure that blemishes and flaws do not detract from the quality product. In addition carcases are carefully monitored whilst being chilled and matured.
Membership of the scheme is voluntary. Processors are regularly assessed to ensure they strictly adhere to the scheme standards which are monitored independently by SFQC.
